Yankees Tanaka aims for MLB leading win number 12
Not many teams are hotter than New York right now and no pitcher is on fire like Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka. The Bronx Bombers have won eight of their last eleven games and Tanaka is looking for his sixth straight and 12th overall MLB victory. How good has the former Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagle been? In his first MLB season, Tanaka has allowed just 22 earned runs and struck out 113 while giving up 16 walks in 99.2 innings pitched. New York is seeking their third series win (Seattle and Toronto) over their past four series.
Orioles are struggling to put together a consistent winning streak
Looking to capture the rubber match, following a 5-3 loss on Friday and a 6-1 win yesterday , Baltimore is in tough against Tanaka today. The Orioles have struggled with consistency all season as their longest winning streak is five games and they have posted a 8-8 record over their past 16 contests. RHP Chris Tillman (5-4 ERA 4.82) heads to the hill for Baltimore and he has struggled recently allowing nine runs on 21 hits over just 14 innings pitched to earn a 0-2 record with one no-decision in June. We'll take "The Tank" over Tillman here.
