Washington Redskins: Aim for rare two game winning streak
About as dysfunctional as they come, Washington is looking to win back-to-back games for just the second time over their last 35 games. The Redskins last won two in a row during weeks 7 & 8 last season. Washington has played some decent ball during the first two weeks as a fourth-quarter punt return TD sunk them during a 17-10 Week One loss to Miami and they ran all over St. Louis during a 24-10 victory at home last Sunday. Washington leads the league in rush attempts (74) and 343 total rushing yards. Expect the Reskins to continue to pound the rock on the ground.
New York Giants: Blown leads have led the G-Men to an 0-2 season start
Woulda, shoulda, coulda is the mantra in New York as the Giants have let late game leads slip away during their first two games this season. New York was up 26-20 against Dallas before losing 27-26 on a last second TD by the Cowboys in their season opener on the road. In their home opener last weekend, the Giants were up 20-10 heading into the fourth quarter but they allowed a pair of Atlanta touchdowns late and dropped a 24-20 decision to the Falcons. The Giants have allowed a league high 702 passing yards over the first two weeks of the season.
Washington vs New York NFL Week 3 Prediction: Washington’s strength on offense is their running game while New York’s lone defensive strength has been stopping the run as they have allowed just 136 rushing yards. That said, it’s difficult to trust either defense in this matchup. Expecting a close contest here, we are taking the +7 points being offered with the Alternate Spread odds posted at SportsInteraction and backing Washington with a 300 unit wager.
