After a relatively boring Super Wild Card weekend, we head to the NFL Divisional Round where the favourites could once again dominate. The chalk went 5-1 last week with the only upset coming by way of San Francisco over Dallas, the closest matchup per the NFL betting odds. Our parlay got snapped before it got started and we went 3-3 as we look to tighter games this week.
UFC 270 Best Betting Picks: A Heavyweight-Sized Parlay!
The UFC is kicking off the new year with a banger: a “superfight” between two unstoppable heavyweights as Francis Ngannou takes on Ciryl Gane. To spice things up further, the championship trilogy between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo anchors the co-main event. We can’t wait to break down the UFC betting odds, which includes our betting picks and a massive parlay.
There will be plenty of storylines when Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane meet. Ngannou (16-3-0), the actual champion has been at odds with Dana White and the UFC and his old relationship with Gane (10-0-0) further adds drama to what is already an intriguing clash of styles.
The latest sports betting odds have them at a dead-even split, which is the most tightly lined fight of the main card. Down to the co-main, the odds have flipped for flyweights Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo. The new champ, Moreno (19-5-2), is now the favourite as Figueiredo (20-2-1) looks to turn the tables:

UFC 270 Picks & Predictions
Our UFC 269 best betting picks went 1-2 thanks to two upsets in the championship events. Our parlays got sunk but if you bet on Kai-Kara France separately, you’d have hit on an underdog bet. This won’t deter us as we make an even bigger parlay this UFC 270:
UFC Heavyweight Championship: Francis Ngannou (1.91) vs Ciryl Gane (1.91)
Like the betting trends, we have gone back-and-forth with this one. On one hand, Ngannou’s power is unrivalled. He is the most feared knockout artist since Mike Tyson and has knocked out his last five opponents with three in under a minute. But if there is a man who won’t be deterred, it’s Gane.
The Frenchman was a sparring partner to Ngannou and has a kickboxing background. He moves like a lightweight but also hits like a heavyweight. His technical prowess is unmatched and may just find a way to neutralize Ngannou’s power.
SBR’s pick — Ngannou (1.91). Over five rounds, Gane should be able to outmaneuver Ngannou. But his margin for error is small and he will eventually make a mistake. We’re backing Ngannou to be the first to beat Gane as he sticks it to the UFC brass.
UFC Flyweight Championship: Brandon Moreno (1.61) vs Deiveson Figueiredo (2.30)
There is some value in the challenger, Figueiredo here. He was, at one point, a buzzsaw that tore through everyone in the division. But he has faded against Moreno and his weight-cutting issues complicate his situation. Keep a close eye on him before and after the weigh-ins if you’re backing him.
But the new champ has also proven himself to be a tough cookie. Moreno has steadily grown since entering the UFC. He isn’t the best striker or grappler but his limitless endurance and toughness have allowed him to outlast even the best.
SBR’s pick — Moreno (1.61). If Figueiredo is to win this, he will have to blow through Moreno fast. But that is easier said than done. Moreno will weather the ex-champ’s storm and take him to deep waters for another submission win.
Heavyweight: Greg Hardy (1.61) vs Alexey Oleynik (2.20)
It’s tough to side with Greg Hardy as a fan. But as a bettor, he can be a lucrative fighter to back. After a pair of knockout losses, Hardy (7-4-0) is being set up to thrash old man Alexey Oleynik, who has been KO’d in four of his last seven fights. If Oleynik (59-16-1) can’t get Hardy to the mat, it’s “Good Night, Irene!”
SBR’s pick — Hardy (1.61). The former NFL star has limited grappling experience, but he won’t need it as he puts the slow and hittable Oleynik away early. Find a prop on Hardy to win in round 1 for more value on your bet.
Parlay: Ngannou (1.91), Moreno (1.61), and Hardy (1.61) at 4.92
Lightweight: Cody Stamann (2.50) vs Said Nurmagomedov (1.50)
Our preview isn’t complete without our underdog pick and that goes to Cody Stamann. The former prospect is on a two-fight skid, but he’s being underestimated against the overhyped Said Nurmagomedov here. Stamann is a prolific wrestler with his back against the wall making him a dangerous underdog.
SBR’s pick — Stamann (2.50). Nurmagomedov could still edge this one out, but getting 2.50 on what should be a close contest is worth a bet. If you can find Stamann to win by the decision as a prop, hit this one too.
