UFC 251 Odds & Picks
UFC 251 looks to be the most exciting MMA event on the 2020 calendar because of a massive card that includes three championship fights, and multiple former champions attempting to re-establish their careers. UFC 251 odds include excellent parlay opportunities and the potential for at least one significant upset that pays out well. Our preview of UFC 251 betting odds includes predictions for the top fights.
Let’s have a quick look at the UFC 251 betting odds before we go through our UFC 251 betting picks.
|Fighter #1||Fighter #2|
|1.33||19.99 (Draw)||3.30||Jorge Masvidal|
|1.40||19.99 (Draw)||2.90||Max Holloway|
|1.40||19.99 (Draw)||2.90||Jose Aldo|
|1.50||19.99 (Draw)||2.60||Jessica Andrade|
Men’s Welterweight Title Bout: Kamaru Usman 1.33 vs Jorge Masvidal 3.30
Kamaru is a bad, bad man. He hasn’t lost a pro fight since 2013 when he tapped out due to a rear-naked choke. Since then, he’s moved up the ranks of the welterweight division, eventually winning the UFC Welterweight Championship with a unanimous decision over Tyron Woodley. His last-round, last-minute KO win over Colby was one of the most exciting bouts to finish the 2019 year, earning the fight of the night.
Jorge Masvidal “The East Coast Badboy” has really made from himself in the last 12 months. Firstly, knocking out Ben Askren with a flying knee in the first 6 seconds of their bout. Then beating fan favourite and UFC legend Nate Diaz. Since then he’s been pinning for a top-tier fight against Conor or the Nigerian Nightmare Kamaru Usman.
However, Kamaru, known as the Nigerian Nightmare, will be considered the favourite because his stand-up abilities are considered more devastating than Masvidal. As long as Kumaru avoids making a big grappling mistake, Masvidal will face an uphill climb to get past Usman’s defence. Given that both fighters tend to go the distance, expect a five-round thriller with Usman retaining his title. Consider adding another bet or two through a parlay with a sportsbook to increase the payout.
Pick – Kumaru Usman 1.30

Men’s Featherweight Title Bout: Alexander Volkanovski 1.40 vs Max Holloway 2.90
Holloway is one of the legends of the UFC, setting multiple records as the UFC Featherweight Champ after losing to Conor McGregor. However, he’s lost two of these last three fights, including a defeat against Volkanovski about half a year ago. Perhaps most concerning would be an apparent reduction in power from Max, who has traditionally been a late finisher.
Unfortunately for Max, Alexander Volkanovski is on an 18-fight win streak that dates all the way back to late 2013. This includes an eight-fight win streak during his time in the UFC Featherweight division, against names such as Chad Mendes, Jose Aldo, and the aforementioned Holloway.
Volkanovski crumbled Max’s attack with a series of well-planned strikes and a ton of low kicks that sapped the drive from Holloway’s strikes. This game plan won’t change significantly, especially during a rematch that takes place half a year later. Expect Alex to control the range again for a five-round decision win over Max.
Pick – Alexander Volkanovski 1.40
Men’s Bantamweight Title Bout Petr Yan 1.40 vs Jose Aldo 2.90
Yan has been waiting for his shot for quite a while, criticizing former UFC Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo for ducking him on multiple occasions. Now that Cejudo retired, Yan will get to back up his boasting by snagging the vacant belt.
He’ll have to go through a living UFC legend in Jose Aldo, a fighter who owns the record for the most consecutive title defences and a featherweight champ. Jose dropping down a weight class won’t be easy for the former champ, who hasn’t been the same since suffering one of the most shocking first-round KOs in UFC history against McGregor.
Will Aldo redeem his career arc with one final hurrah? Most UFC fans placing wagers with sportsbooks don’t seem to think so. There’s still a champ somewhere inside Aldo, and it’s worth rolling the dice if you’re looking to take a risk – only because of the healthy payout for Jose.
Pick – Jose Aldo 2.90
Women’s Strawweight Event Jessica Andrade 2.60 vs Rose Namajunas 1.50
The UFC women’s strawweight division has featured some of the best fights, most intense rivalries, and shocking results. Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas have been on both sides of the coin, earning spectacular victories and suffering stunning defeats during their careers.
Andrade became a surprise UFC Strawweight champ when she suddenly knocked Rose out with a body slam after Namajunas started the fight well. However, Jessica quickly lost the title to Zhang Weili in only 42 seconds. Andrade also lost to Joanna Jedrzejczyk before getting a shot at Rose – but Namajunas was able to handle Joanna during their fight.
The odds from sportsbooks such as Sports Interaction show that most UFC betting fans consider Rose’s loss a bit of a fluke result. Few fights end with a KO slam. As long as Rose avoids making the same mistake again, she should emerge victoriously and eventually get another shot at a championship.
Pick – Rose Namajunas 1.50
UFC 251 Best Parlay Picks
One of the best ways to increase the payout when betting on favourites involves putting together a parlay, especially if you’re using a bonus provided by your sportsbook. In UFC 251, one of the safer combos would be a ticket that combines a Kamaru Usman victory with a Rose Namajunas win. For those feeling a bit adventurous, adding Jose Aldo at 2.90 will nearly triple the potential payout of your parlay bet.
As the event draws near, sportsbooks will release additional lines and prop bets. If you’re interested in the Usman-Namajunas parlay, keep your eyes peeled for an option to bet on a decision victory for both fighters, which could lift the value of your wager even further.
