    UFC 247 Betting Preview

    UFC 247 Betting Preview

Our breakdown of UFC 247 picks include a pair of championship bouts that appears to feature a lopsided title defence, along with a couple of matches that provide excellent betting value on the underdogs.

Jon Jones and Valentina Shevchenko look to defend their titles, while Justin Tafa and Dan Ige are among the best value for UFC 247 bets.

William Hill has decent odds and several prop bets offers.

    UFC 247 Betting Card

Jon Jones -450 vs Dominick Reyes +300

One of the most intimidating fighters ever to step into the octagon, UFC 247 betting odds show Jon “Bones” Jones as a heavy favourite to remain the champion of the light heavyweight division and pick up his 26th victory in the octagon. He’ll be up against Dominick Reyes, who enters this match with an undefeated record over twelve UFC bouts.

With all due respect to Reyes, it will likely require a serious mistake or a lucky shot from Dominick to bring Jones down. Jon is one of the preeminent strikers and finishers in UFC history, capable of delivering tremendous force from strange angles, as well as from in close with devastating knees and elbows. Bet on Bones extending his title defence.

    Pick – Jon Jones +450

Valentina Shevchenko -1000 vs Katlyn Chookagian +550

The co-main event features the women’s flyweight champ, Valentina Shevchenko, in what’s projected to be the most lopsided fight of the night. Shevchenko is ranked as the second-best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, known for clinical finishes and a strong muay thai striking ability. Challenger Katlyn Chookagian faces an uphill battle to overcome Valentina.

Chookagian has been involved in eight consecutive decisions on her way to this title shot, winning four of her past five with unanimous decisions. A lack of finishing capability will make it extremely difficult against Shevchenko, who’s known as an expert counterpuncher that can also win via submission. Pick – Valentina Shevchenko -1000

Juan Adams -225 vs Justin Tafa +162

The octagon will rumble with Juan Adams and Justin Tafa – a pair of heavyweights – throwing down at the Toyota Center. At first glance, Adams appears to have an advantage over Tafa with a bit more experience in the UFC. However, Juan has dropped two fights in a row, attempting to get back on track against Tafa.

Tafa’s considered a knockout artist who throws a lot of heat behind his strikes, and he’s also looking to get back to the winning column with a bounceback performance after getting counterpunched to the mat as an undercard in the latest Adesanya bout. If you’re looking for a solid low-risk high reward wager, Justin’s one of the better picks of the night.

    Pick – Justin Tafa +162

Mirsad Bektic -150 vs Dan Ige +110

Another excellent matchup on the undercard, Bektic and Ige are a pair of 28-year-old, skilled featherweights with similar UFC records. Dan Ige holds a slight reach advantage, but Mirsad Bektic is considered a bit more talented and explosive in the octagon. However, Mirsad has lost two of his last four bouts with disappointing knockouts against Josh Emmett and Darren Elkins.

Bektic is the more popular pick, but Ige has a four-win streak going including a TKO against Mike Santiago and a submission choke victory over Danny Henry. Dan also has a lot more experience during his journey as a UFC contender. Find a sportsbook that provides the best odds for Ige.

    Pick – Dan Ige +110
