Tigers vs Yankees MLB Saturday Post-Season Betting
Detroit Tigers: Tigers ‘O’ goes on the road
Detroit secured their berth in the ALCS on Thursday night with a win in Oakland over the A’s in a series that lasted the full five games and had to wait until Friday night to find out who and where they would be playing their next game. The offense of the Tigers should be on full display in this series, which has performed much better in the playoffs compared to the Yankees offense. Doug Fister gets the call in game one for Detroit and will look to duplicate his performance against the Yankees from game five of the ALDS in 2011.
New York Yankees: Offense needs to step it up
If the Yankees wish to advance to the World Series their offense will need to improve greatly from top to bottom against the Tigers. Third baseman Alex Rodriguez was benched for game five of the ALDS after going 2-for-16 with 9 strikeouts in the first four games. The group of Rodriguez, Nick Swisher, Robinson Cano and Russell Martin hit for a combined average of .123 in the ALDS. Post-season veteran and post-season all-time wins (19) leader Andy Pettitte will be handed the ball for the Yankees.
New York did not enjoy the benefit of a day off in between the ALDS and the ALCS like the Tigers, which could come into play Saturday night at home. The Sportsinteraction.com run line has the Tigers as +1.5 (-175) dogs against the Bronx Bombers on the road. With the combination of Doug Fister and the Tigers offense in Game One, Detroit should be able to grab a 1-0 series lead over the Yankees in the ALCS. It is hard not to back the Tigers in this contest so be sure you do the same when placing your playoff bet.
