Saturday’s NHL Predictions Parlay

Saturday’s NHL Predictions Parlay
The Pittsburgh Penguins are on a roll, winning three straight games and seven of their last 10 as the defending Stanley Cup champions prepare to face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Can Sidney Crosby and the Pens keep their winning streak intact against the struggling Maple Leafs? We break down this match up and some of the other enticing betting lines in Saturday’s NHL Predictions Parlay preview.

Odds are courtesy of Sports Interaction.

Pittsburgh Penguins (-120) Toronto Maple Leafs (+100)

Leafs

Winners of three straight games, the Pittsburgh Penguins hit the road on Saturday as the -120 favourites against the struggling Maple Leafs, who have dropped four straight games with star forward Auston Matthews still out of the lineup. The Penguins hold first in the Metropolitan with other clubs on their heels, so adding some separation with a win in Toronto would be perfect for the defending champions. However, the Leafs have been great on home ice this season, posting a record of 22-8-2 at the Air Canada Centre. At +100, put your money on the Leafs, who have won 2 of the 3 last three contests against the Penguins.

Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs (+100)

San Jose Sharks (-135) vs. Washington Capitals (+115)

Sharks

One team chasing the Penguins for place in the Met are the Washington Capitals, who travel to San Jose on Saturday afternoon for a tough matchup against the red-hot Sharks. San Jose has won 6 of its last 10 games and head into Saturday’s contest as the -135 favourites on home ice, where the club has posted an impressive 20-10-3 record to this point of the season. The Capitals have been struggling of late, winning just 4 of the last 6 games and enter Saturday’s match as intriguing +115 underdogs. The Sharks have won 2 of the last 3 meetings against the Caps and bettors can expect much of the same on Saturday.

Pick: San Jose Sharks (-135)

Los Angeles Kings (-165) vs. St. Louis Blues (+135)

Blues

Playoff hopes for the St. Louis Blues are rapidly fading away with every loss. Following back-to-back defeats, the Blues — winners of just 1 game in their last 10 — head to California on Saturday for a game against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center. The Kings, who hold the second wild-card spot in the West, are -165 favourites going into the game. L.A. holds a 37-25-5 record and have won 7 of its last 10 games. This is a must-win game for the Blues, who are chasing the Kings for one of those wild-card positions. The Blues have an advantage over the Kings head-to-head, having won 2 of their last 3 meetings.

Pick: St. Louis Blues (+135)

Winnipeg Jets (-110) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (-110)

Jets

There aren’t many NHL teams hotter than the Winnipeg Jets right now. The club has reeled off 4 straight victories as it prepares to take on the Philadelphia Flyers on the road Saturday afternoon. The Jets are in a race for first place in the Central Division and can inch closer to that position with another victory on Saturday. Oddsmakers with Sports Interaction are calling this a Pick ‘Em game, with both clubs coming in at -110. The Jets have netted 226 goals — third most in the NHL — triggered by sophomore sensation Patrik Laine, who is closing in on No. 40. The Flyers have dropped 5 straight games and won’t be able to compete with Winnipeg’s firepower.

Pick: Winnipeg Jets (-110)
