New England Patriots (-180) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (+150)

My Team's Next MatchNew England Patriots

If you like high-powered offensive teams, there weren’t many better than the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles this season. The defending Super Bowl champion Patriots put up the second most points in the league with 458 during the 2017 campaign — finishing only behind the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles were not far behind, scoring 457 points and finishing third overall in that category.

Sports Interaction has set the total points projection for Super Bowl 52 at 48½, which may seem like a lot, but not when these two offenses are on the field. In these playoffs alone, the Eagles have posted 790 total yards and are averaging 395 per game, edging out the Patriots in both statistical categories. New England has put up 59 points in the post-season and are averaging 29.5 per game, compared to the Eagles, who have netted 53 points with a 26.5 per game average.

    Over/Under

The Eagles have been in several high-scoring games this season. In fact, the total has gone OVER in 15 of Philadelphia’s 20 games on the road. On the flip side, the total has also gone UNDER in six of the club’s last nine games. The total has gone OVER in 8 of New England’s last 12 home games. However, the total has gone UNDER in five of the Patriots’ last seven games.

While many are expecting the Patriots and Eagles to surpass the 48½ total points mark, consider taking the under, as both clubs will be more defensive minded in the championship game.

    SBR’s PICK: UNDER (48.5)

Here are a few more OVER/UNDER betting lines to consider for Super Bowl 52.

    Total Interceptions (+1.5)

Tom Brady and Nick Foles have been razor sharp during the NFL playoffs — neither throwing an interception through two games heading into Super Bowl Sunday. Sports Interaction has set the projected total interceptions mark at 1.5, but which quarterback will break first? You have to go back to a Christmas Even matchup against the Buffalo Bills to find Brady’s last interception. Foles’ last pick-off came on New Year’s Eve against the Dallas Cowboys. We may see one interception on Sunday, but don’t expect to see an OVER outcome.

    SBR’s PICK: UNDER (1.5)

    Total Sacks (4.5)

New England’s pass rush defence ranked seventh overall in sacks, collecting 42 throughout the 2017 campaign. Philadelphia’s pass rush was average during the regular season, but still managed to post 38 sacks, which ranked 15th in the NFL. Sports Interaction has set the projected total sacks line at 4.5 for Super Bowl 52. There is no doubt Foles will feel more pressure in the pocket against a Patriots’ defence that won’t give the Eagles QB much time to make decisions. Take the OVER on the 4.5 line on total sacks in the game

    SBR’s PICK: OVER (4.5)

    Longest Field Goal Scored (46.5)

How many field goals will be made when the Patriots and Eagles clash in Super Bowl 52?
The Eagles have converted on four field goals in the post-season, the longest coming from 53 yards. The club is 4-for-4 in the playoffs. The Patriots are 1-for-2, with their lone field goal coming from 31 yards out. However, the Pats were 4-for-4 from 50-plus yards during the regular season and the Eagles were 6-for-7 from the same distance. Expect either team to surpass Sports Interaction’s projected mark of 46.5.

    SBR’s PICK: OVER (46.5)
