NBA All-Star Game 2020 – Team LeBron vs Team Giannis

NBA All-Star Game 2020 – Team LeBron vs Team Giannis

The 2020 NBA All-Star game will be the second consecutive year where Team LeBron and Team Giannis clash, with the festivities including the dunk contest, three-point contest, skills challenge and the rising stars game. Just like last year, LeBron’s squad will be favorites for 2020 NBA all-star game odds, boasting a squad of MVPs, NBA champions, and NBA finals MVPs.

Team LeBron should be able to defeat Team Giannis for the second consecutive year, overwhelming Team Giannis with a better starting five and a much deeper bench. With a lack of defence, NBA All-Star Game odds over under 2020 will once again be sky-high, with sportsbooks expecting that both sides will go well over the 300-point mark.

Team LeBron vs Team Giannis – NBA All-Star Odds 2020

  • Team LeBron -204
  • Team Giannis +180

With Davis, Harden, Leonard, and Doncicjoining LeBron, King James has put together another superior all-star team in 2020. Giannis is the only MVP on his squad, and Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam are the only two players on the team with an NBA ring.

For 2020 NBA All-Star Game MVP odds, bettors are advised to steer clear of Russel Westbrook and LeBron James, both of whom have multiple all-star MVP trophies.

The league now belongs to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who narrowly lost the all-star MVP nod to Kevin Durant in 2019. Unfortunately for Giannis, LeBron stacked his team with MVPs, and players on the losing team almost never get an MVP nod. Expect Anthony Davis to scoop a second all-star MVP playing alongside LeBron.

Pick – Team LeBron -204

Odds to Win 2020 Dunk Contest

  • Aaron Gordon +125
  • Derrick Jones Jr. +200
  • Pat Connaughton +400
  • Dwight Howard +500

Perhaps the best betting value for odds on the NBA All-Star Game 2020, Aaron Gordon enters the Dunk Contest as the favourite to finally take home the crown for this event. Gordon and Zach LaVine famously duelled in Toronto during the 2016 version of the event, with Levine barely emerging victorious. Derrick Jones Jr. is no slouch though, putting on a fantastic performance in the 2017 event by leaping over four men.

With all due respect to Howard and Connaughton, Gordon and Jones Jr. are on another level. Expect them to duel in the finals, with Gordon pulling off a high-flying creative slam that defies explanation.

Pick – Aaron Gordon +125

Odds to Win the 2020 Three-Point Contest

  • Damian Lillard +375
  • Davis Bertans +500
  • Duncan Robinson +500
  • Joe Harris +500
  • Trae Young +500
  • Buddy Hield +700
  • Zach LaVine +750
  • Devonte’ Graham +1000

Bertans has been so consistent from beyond the arc this season that he’s attracted considerable attention at the trade deadline. He’s one of a number of NBA sharpshooters looking to challenge favourite Damian Lillard for the three-point contest, including Trae Young, Duncan Robinson, Joe Harris, Buddy Hield, Devonte Graham and former dunk champion Zach LaVine.

One of the most significant changes in the format includes bonus moneyball shots located six feet beyond the break of the three-point arc. This will make a huge difference for the event, as Lillard and Young have shown the exceptional capability for sinking long three. Young’s a bit more motivated to win all-star competitions, while real-game scenarios bring the best out of Lillard. Expect Trae to win this one.

Pick – Trae Young +500

Odds to Win the 2020 Skills Challenge

  • Spencer Dinwiddie +300
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander +400
  • Pascal Siakam +500
  • Jayson Tatum +600
  • Khris Middleton +600
  • Patrick Beverley +700
  • Domantas Sabonis +800
  • Bam Adebayo +1200

Typically, big men aren’t the ones who dominate the skills event, which includes challenges that guards usually perform better than bigs. However, Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis broke new ground as stretch fours who won the skills challenge. This shows that last year’s most improved player, the Toronto Raptors Pascal Siakam, can definitely hang with the previous winner Spencer Dinwiddie, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Canada’s rising star point guard.

One of the lesser-known facts about Siakam is his sheer speed and quickness, partly from his days as a soccer player. Expect Siakam to shine in his first NBA all-star game.

Pick – Pascal Siakam +500
