Senators at Penguins Odds
My Team's Next MatchOttawa Senators
This Eastern Conference Finals series has been all about defense so far with scores of 2-1 and 1-0. You've got to believe that should this series continue down that path it will favor Ottawa more and more as they have a tough time matching up - on paper - with Pittsburgh's scoring talent, and they also aren't dealing with numerous injuries to their defense like the Penguins are. Will things start to open up for both teams now that the scenery has changed?
The Penguins have to find a way to open things up and produce more goals if they want to regain the advantage in this series, and thankfully for them, Ottawa has shown a tendency to play much faster at home. Pittsburgh can't keep masking their injury-riddled defense if they want to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals and that means that the big names up front have to start scoring. Ottawa's defensive style has frustrated them to no end through two games, but we should see things open up much more in Game 3.
OVER 5 GOALS (-130)
PLAY NOW
We couldn't have been more wrong with an 'over' play in Game 2, but with Game 3 back in Ottawa we've got no problem going back to the well here. Senators home games have averaged 6.33 goals during these playoffs and there is no doubt that the Penguins are more offensively skilled than the likes of Boston and New York.
Ottawa will do their part as well as they've scored 4+ goals in half of those six playoff home games, and the Senators are on a 3-1-3 O/U run after scoring two goals or less last time out. That's six of seven tries of getting at least five goals in their next outing and it's what we should at least see tonight.
