    NHL All-Star Game 2020

    NHL All-Star Game 2020

The NHL all-star game always will be an offensive showcase that features next to zero defence and half-hearted goaltending. As such, NHL all-star game odds favour the division that boasts the most firepower

A format change in 2017 switched the focus from traditional hockey between teams from two conferences to a 3-on-3 divisional format that features a brief tournament. The Pacific Division and the Metropolitan Division have alternated as champions over the past four years because the two divisions house the best skaters in the NHL. In terms of NHL all-star game MVP odds, McDavid will be the favourite.

In 2020, the NHL all-star game will continue with the single-game elimination tournament, which has completely refreshed the event. The best players in the NHL will compete to win a million-dollar prize by outgunning each other in St. Louis on Saturday, January 25th.

    NHL All-Star Game Odds

    Tournament Winner

    • Pacific Division +200
    • Atlantic Division +250
    • Metropolitan Division +350
    • Central Division +500

    Pacific Division +200

There’s no player more explosive and impossible to defend than Connor McDavid, who captains the Pacific Division. Considering that the best defences in the NHL have trouble marking McDavid and linemate Leon Draisaitl, they will waltz through opposing divisions en route to the all-star game finals. In terms of NHL all-star game MVP odds, McDavid will be the favourite in the eyes of most sportsbooks.

Youth reigns supreme on this team, with Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes joining in on the fun. As leaders of the Canucks charge to the top of the Pacific Division, they’ve skated circles around their competition. The mix of speed and skill in the Pacific Division makes them the favourites to take the million bucks.

    Atlantic Division +250

Austin Matthews, David Pasternak, and Mitch Marner represent a trio of unstoppable skaters, especially when they have the extra space of the 3-on-3 format. The Atlantic defenders are stalwart but not exactly fleet of foot. Victor Hedman and Shea Weber can’t match the speed of top all-star forwards.

Jack Eichel and Jonathan Huberdeau round out the top-end talent for the Atlantic, rivalling the top-ranked Pacific Division. Stopping Matthews and Marner on open ice will be difficult for any division.

    Metropolitan Division +350

Without Alex Ovechkin, the Metro Division doesn’t have the same offensive force as in previous all-star games. He’ll be sitting out to prepare for a long playoff push, with Kris Letang taking his place as the captain of the division.

Assuredly, Mathew Barzal and Artemi Panarin can hang with anyone in the NHL, but the rest of the roster doesn’t inspire the same confidence as the Pacific or Atlantic. If anything, their odds appear a bit expensive given all the defenders on the team.

    Central Division +500

Perhaps the best value out of all divisions in the all-star game, the Central has the worst odds of winning the tournament. However, the Central features Nate MacKinnon, Patrick Kane, Tyler Seguin, Mark Scheifele, and four St. Louis Blues.

The Blues players – Binnington, Pietrangelo, Perron and O’Reilly – will enjoy home-ice advantage in an attempt to win another Stanley Cup championship for their fans. Consider the Central Division to be the best betting value for the all-star weekend.

NHL All-Star Game Prediction – Pick Central Division +500
