NFL 2020 Week 6 Picks

NFL 2020 Week 6 Picks

We’ve got 14 games slated ahead of our NFL week 6 betting picks – and there’s something for everyone here. There are shootouts between elite quarterbacks, dumpster fire match-ups, and a juicy tilt between some prized young QB’s. We narrowed it down to the most interesting games from a picks perspective. While we advise you to give our picks a chance even if you won’t dare watch some of the games.

NFL picks for Week 6

Fourteen games is a lot to pick from and we did our best to cover the games that are worth the look based on their odds and whatnot. And we think we did a solid job giving you a nice variety here both from a picks perspective and how fun they are to watch (if you also enjoy watching trainwrecks, we’ve got at least two games here).

Here are this week’s NFL picks:

Detroit Lions (1-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX

Here’s an awful matchup between a bad team that’s bad but doesn’t know it and a bad team that wants to get worse. What’s funny is that either tag can apply to these teams on any given Sunday or quarter for that matter.

Since we have to write something coherent here, just side with the Lions to win as long they’re close to a pick’em price. They, at least, have a decent enough quarterback and enough firepower to take down their fellow kitties.

Pick: Lions to win (-128)

Houston Texans (1-4) at Tennessee Titans (3-0)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS

Houston celebrated the long-delayed Bill O’Brien firing by shellacking the Jaguars at home. Now they travel to Tennessee to take on the division’s best. The Titans are no joke and are an all-around team who can grind out their opposition or have the resurrected Ryan Tannehill smoke them.

Houston Texans

With all that said, the Texans are turning the corner and also have enough firepower to contend with the Titans. Oh, and the Titans suck at covering going 0-3 ATS despite having an undefeated record.

Pick: Texans to cover +4.5 (-110)

Baltimore Ravens (4-1) at Philadelphia Eagles (1-3-1)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS

Things are about to go from bad to worse for the Eagles who have looked like a complete mess this season. The Ravens have been on a warpath and any team not named Kansas City has gotten it from the NFL’s number one team in net rating.

A touchdown seems too low for the Ravens. Baltimore scores 29 points a game. The Eagles give up 29 points a game. Even if this doofus math doesn’t add up, the Ravens should run away with this one.

Pick: Ravens to cover -7.0 (-110)

Washington Football Team (1-4) at New York Giants (0-5)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX

Are you ready for some ugly football? These NFC Least rivals have been outscored by a combined 106 points and are in the bottom-six of the NFL in scoring. Oh boy, how do we find something good to say?

The Giants’ defence is not that atrocious. But Washington has Alex Smith back, So, go Washington!

Pick: Washington to win (+110)

Green Bay Packers (4-0) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2)

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX

Think the opposite of the Washington-Giants game about this one: pure fireworks. The Packers have looked like the best offensive team in the NFL thanks to a rejuvenated Aaron Rodgers (in MVP discussions) syncing fully with Matt LaFleur (in COTY talks).

Green Bay Packers

But oddsmakers feel the public will side with the Brady-Arians connection more by putting the Packers as underdogs. Really? This is too good to pass up. Green Bay should win this one and at an underdog price, Christmas came early.

Pick: Packers to win (+110)

Arizona Cardinals (3-2) at Dallas Cowboys (2-3)

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN

The Cowboys lost Dak Prescott but still rallied to beat the hapless Giants. Well, we love a great comeback story but the Cardinals ain’t the Giants. Kyler Murray gives them a chance to win every week even if the passing yards aren’t as gaudy. And their run game is on point.

Dallas’s defence is filled with holes, but they aren’t exactly pushovers. When the line opened, Dallas were the favourites but it has since flipped. Arizona should edge a lively Dallas team here. Expect Murray to be the difference-maker.

Pick: Cardinals to cover -2.0 (-110)

Upset pick of the week

Kansas City Chiefs (4-1) at Buffalo Bills (4-0)

Monday, 5:00 p.m. ET, FOX

We saved the best for last.

The Chiefs suffered their first defeat at the hands of the Raiders and they’ll look to take out their frustrations on the Bills. But not so fast.

The Bills have quietly been one of the best teams this season. Their defence is elite and they’re proving that this year. And the Stefon Diggs deal is proving to be a massive success. But how about Josh freakin’ Allen? If there is one quarterback who can match Mahomes, it’s Allen.

Buffalo Bills

The only thing lacking in Buffalo is big-game experience, which the Chiefs have in spades. But on paper, this team can and will beat the Chiefs!

Pick: Bills to win (+170)

And just like that, we’re six weeks into the NFL season. Whether the pandemic is going to make things messy or not, let’s be grateful we have some amazing football games ahead of us.
