NFL 2012 Schedule: Cowboys vs. Giants Opens Kickoff Weekend

NFC East Tilt Highlights 2012 NFL Kickoff Weekend

One of the most heated rivalries in all of sports gets the 2012 National Football League Kickoff Weekend off to a rip roaring start. Long time NFC East division foes clash as the Dallas Cowboys battle the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. Pigskin prognosticators can pop the champagne corks at 8:30 PM ET on Thursday, September 5, 2012, as the G-Men open their title defense at MetLife Stadium in New York.

Steeped in history, this is the 101st meeting in this always heated series. While the Cowboys hold a large 56-42-2 series advantage, the G-Men have won seven of the last nine meetings – including a 21-17 win in the only playoff battle back in 2008. New York and Dallas closed out Week 17 of the 2011 NFL regular season with an “unofficial” NFC East Division Championship game as the Giants crushed the Cowboys 31-14.
