New Jersey Devils: Riding a red hot winning streak
Not many teams have been more consistent than New Jersey recently as the Swamp Monsters have posted a 9-3-2 record since February 17. All the winning hasn’t done the Devils any good though as they have not gained a single point on Boston in the race for the final playoff spot in the East. New Jersey was 12 points back when their winning ways began and they are 12 points back a month later. Even if the Bruins continue to bumble, the Devils are trailing four teams. Put a fork in ‘em.
Buffalo Sabres: Still have a sock hanging on the NHL basement door
Hoping to “earn” the best shot at landing McNext One – Buffalo has had the NHL cellar door bared since January 18, 2015. The Sabres hold a 3-point lead on Arizona, with Edmonton lurking four points back, in the Battle for the Basement. The season ending cellar dweller receives a 20% shot at landing Conner McDavid when the balls tumble in the NHL Draft Lottery in mid-April. Buffalo is fresh off a 2-1 (SO) win in Boston on Tuesday but they went 0-4-2 in their previous six contests.
Sabres vs Devils Decision: This is the third and final game of the season series between these clubs. New Jersey won the first two contests, both played in The Swamp, 4-1 on January 6 and 2-1 (SO) on February 17. We don’t get much value in the Regulation Time price versus the full time odds here. As such, we are backing New Jersey with a 300 unit money line wager at Sportsinteraction.
