Kentucky Wildcats: Fabulous Freshmen now top chalk
Stirring up memories of the Michigan Wolverines Fab Five, (1992 NCAAB Championship runner up to Duke) #8 Kentucky heads into tonight’s title game with five starting freshmen who survived the Midweast Bracket of Death. Although they were the top ranked team heading into the season, a few bad loses sent the Wildcats out the Top 25 and they were subsequently tagged as the #13 pre-tournament favorites at SportsInteraction with a huge +2500 price. The Cats have clawed a 9th, 1st, 4th, 2nd and another #1 seed (#4 was defending Champion Louisville) on their way to the Championship contest. We like that Kentucky has been toughly tested throughout March Madness and that they seem to have a determination that’s as strong as steel.
UConn Huskies: Monster pre-tournament pups face one more mush
Entering the Madness of March with a gaudy +6000 money line price at Sports Interaction, the kids from the University of Connecticut have come a long baby. Seeded #7 in East bracket, the Huskies took out 10th, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and #1 seeded teams – the #1 being the overall tournament favorite Florida Gators. Connecticut was solid at both ends of the floor as they snapped the Gators 30-game winning streak – that began after UConn took out Florida with a buzzer-beater on December 2, 2013. The Huskies shot 55.8 percentage from the field versus the Gators and will need to be just as good, if not better, to keep Kentucky from cutting down the nets.
