National League Preview 2013: Crowning the Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers: Returning to NLCS in 2013
Los Angeles played in two straight National League Championship Series in 2008 and 2009, losing both times to the Philadelphia Phillies. That was under the leadership of Joe Torre. Torre’s protege, Don Mattingly, is now at the helm and has the talent to get the Dodgers back to the NLCS and into the World Series once again. The Dodgers will be challenged in the West by their rivals the San Francisco Giants.
Washington Nationals: Continuing to improve each year
After securing their first NL East title as the Nationals, Washington lost in five games to the St. Louis Cardinals in the Division Series last year. With playoff experience under their belts, the Nationals should be even more dangerous in 2013. Barring another game-five ninth-inning collapse, the Nationals should make an appearance in the NLCS this coming October. They will not be able to get past the Dodgers.
For the 2013 National League preview, we find the odds of winning the NL pennant at the sportsbook from Sportsinteraction.com. The Nationals are the league favorites at +350 while the Dodgers are second in line at +400. The defending NLCS and World Series champion Giants come in at +600. We are going to bet on the Dodgers not only winning the West, but also the NL pennat at +400 as the 2013 season gets underway.
