Nashville Predators Lines To Win The 2017 Stanley Cup

Nashville Predators Lines To Win The 2017 Stanley Cup

Will The Predators Win Their First Stanley Cup?

For the first time in their 20-year history, the Nashville Predators have reached the Stanley Cup Final. There is no doubt that this team has caught quite the following during this incredible playoff run in 2017, as the entered the post-season as the lowest seed overall (16th), and have yet to face an elimination game to this point. There opponent in the Stanley Cup Final has yet to be determined, but you'd better believe they'll continue to get plenty of support from the betting public as sportsbooks everywhere are already sweating the possibility of Nashville winning the Cup.

Predators Odds To Win The Stanley Cup

Nashville's biggest concern during the regular season was inconsistent play overall and poor goaltending, but those haven't really been a concern at all in the playoffs. G Pekka Rinne has stepped up big time with a playoff-leading 1.70 GAA so far for the Predators and when you aren't even giving up two goals per game, you are going to win a lot of tight, playoff games. However, there is no doubt that Rinne is continually playing 'over his head' with numbers like that and Preds fans are hoping he doesn't regress to his career numbers any time soon. The NHL playoffs tend to be about riding a hot goalie and there is no question that Nashville has that.

In terms of Nashville's biggest strength this post-season it has to be their overall depth and dominant play at home. The Predators are 7-1 SU in eight home playoff games this year and they've gotten significant contributions from nearly everyone on their roster. Their defense core is by far the best in the business overall of the remaining teams and it's that group of blueliners that not only lock things down in their own end, but have no problem leading the attack as well.

Nashville Predators 2017 Playoffs Recap

Depending on who Nashville ends up playing in the Finals, bettors who are firmly on the Predators bandwagon may want to make their decision on a series bet soon based on who they believe they'll play. Pittsburgh is a heavy home favorite for Game 7 at the time of this writing and should it be the Penguins and Predators meeting up, there is no doubt the odds will be much lower for the Preds and could be in the +150ish range. However, the current +100 price will look awfully good if it's the Senators they face because Nashville will be laying the chalk in that situation.

  • Key Stat #1: Nashville is 7-1 SU at home in these playoffs and play with an energy and aura about them in that building that makes them feel invincible. They'll open up the Finals on the road regardless, but Games 3, 4, and 6 will be in their barn.
  • Key Stat #2: Pekka Rinne's 1.70 GAA leads the NHL in these playoffs among goalies who have gotten more than a handful of starts and it will continue to be his play that determines Nashville's fate in the Finals.
  • Key Stat #3: Injuries to Nashville's top two centres in Fisher and Johansen have stung, but haven't hurt them much as of yet. Will that change in the Finals?
  • Key Stat #4: D Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi have a combined 9 goals and 21 points for Nashville in the playoffs and they'll need to keep on contributing offensively in the Finals.
  • Key Stat #5: Nashville has yet to face elimination or even trail in any series so far, so it will be interesting to see how this team does should they get behind early on and have to deal with that type of adversity.
