St. Louis Blues: Look to avoid another early round playoff exit

One has to feel for St. Louis fans as their hockey hero’s are on the verge of a third straight first round playoff exit. The Blues are 132-64-16 over their last 212 regular season games but just 6-11 during their past 17 postseason contests. Down 3-2 in their quarterfinal series with the Wild, St. Louis will need to pull out all the stops in St. Paul today. The Blues can gather some solace in the fact that they routed the Wild 6-1 in Minnesota last Wednesday night.

Minnesota Wild: Proving anything can happen if you make it to the postseason party

In playoff mode for months now, following a mediocre 18-18-5 first half season start, the Wild are one win away from a date with Chicago in the second round of the NHL postseason. If they want to avoid a trip back to St. Louis instead, Minnesota will have to reverse the “win one – lose one” trend they have been on. The Wild have recorded three wins by a 11-3 margin but have been blown out by a 10-2 final count during their two losses in the playoffs.
