Miami vs Oakland: NFL International Series Spectacle Continues in London
National Football League: SBR Rant of the Month
While the word ”spectacle” is open to your own interpretation, London is calling this weekend as the Dolphins and Raiders have crossed the pond to clash in jolly old England. Some Scots were trying to get out of their deal with the UK and, though that movement failed, the National Football League brass needed to look at activating a similar plan. Instead, they added games as six teams have to make the Atlantic Leap this year.
Oakland Raiders: Kick a little more dirt on ‘em while they’re down
Players on the teams that have to travel outside of North America basically get screwed by the travel – not to mention all of the distractions. That said, Oakland is getting the biggest shaft of any of them – maybe ever. The Raiders traveled to New York, then back home to face Houston, then up to New England - before jetting over to Old England. By the time they return to the Bay area, the Raiders will have traveled 13,294.2 miles in 26 days. For context purposes consider that Pittsburgh (5,896) and Cleveland (6,084) will travel a combined 11,980 miles over the entire 17 week season. The Raiders preseason visits to Minnesota (3,094) and Green Bay (3,698) that covered 6,792 round trip miles were an extra nudge in the Silver & Black’s sack.
NFL International Series Prediction: While we were going to leave this as just a commentary piece the value offered on the SportsInteraction betting board is simply too good to pass on. Miami is the slightly better team on both sides of the ball and, even though they made the 4,478 trip to the land of Fish & Chips as well, the Dolphins are a way less travel weary squad. Oakland put a lot into their 16-9 loss to the Patriots in Week 3 and have been outscored 65-37 in their three loses. It’s not much better on the Dolphins ledger, as they’ve been outscored 83-58, but RB Lamar Miller and WR Mike Wallace should both have a decent day here. We’ll take the 50% return that comes with a 500 unit money line wager at Sportsinteraction.
