LA Dodgers: Greinke will be grumpy on the bump tonight
Despite pitching six strong innings, allowing one run on four hits, Zack Greinke (5-1 ERA 1.52) was tagged with his first loss of the season as the Dodgers dropped a 7-1 decision to the lowly Rockies last Saturday. Including that loss, Los Angels is 1-4 over their last five games - outscored by a 17-2 margin. The power failure is shocking as the Dodgers were shutout 10-0 during a three–game series sweep by the Giants in San Francisco and they haven’t scored a run in 31 straight innings.
San Diego Padres: Five games back- a strong season start has steadily slipped away
Forecast to post their first winning season in five years, San Diego rolled out of the starting gate with a 10-5 record and were tied for first in the NL West on April 21. A month later, the Friars have fizzled as they have stumbled during a 10-17 recent run. The losing skid included a 1-5 mark where the Padres were outscored by a 33-11 final count. San Diego hasn’t given RHP Andrew Cashner (1-7 ERA 3.24) much run support as the Padres have lost his last five starts by a 22-4 margin.
Padres vs Dodgers MLB Decision: This contest is dripping with intangibles. The Dodgers are riding their second three-game losing streak - both versus San Francisco. Following their last sweep by the Giants, Greinke went up against Cashner and Los Angeles posted a 3-0 victory. History repeats itself here and we are backing the Dodgers with 500 unit wager on the run line price posted on the betting board at SportsInteraction.
