Colt aim to rebound from NFL Week One blowout in Buffalo
Talk of the 2015 NFL season being a walk in the park for Indianapolis has cooled some after the Colts were crushed 27-14 by the Bills in Buffalo during Week One action. The final score is actually flattering as the Colts were down 24-0 halfway through the third quarter. Indianapolis turnovers hurt the Colts as QB Andrew Luck tossed two interceptions and rookie WR Phillip Dorsett muffed a punt return. The Bills turned the two of the three turnovers into points with a touchdown and a field goal. Turnovers aside, the Colts did not look good on either side of the ball and they need to step it up during their home opener. Stud WR T.Y. Hilton is questionable tonight.
New York Jets: Gang Green opens with a victory following a tumultuous preseason
Following wholesale changes in the offseason, the Jets soared to a 3-1 preseason record despite being (or becasue they were) without their starting QB Geno Smith. The much-maligned pivot suffered a broken jaw during a fight with LB IK Enemkpali who has since shuffled off to Buffalo. The Jets routed Cleveland 31-10 at home during Week One as New York forced four fumbles and added one interception – albeit against QB Johnny Maziel. We caution everyone about getting too high on the Jets fumes as QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is still average at best and RB Chris Ivory (groin) plus CB Antonio Cromartie (knee) will both be less than 100% in this contest. Ivory is expected to start while Cromartie is not. That’s a hit to what we see as a somewhat overated Jets defense.
Jets vs Colts NFL Monday Night Football Call: The Colts loss to the Bills looks even worse after the Patriots bashed Buffalo 40-32 in Orchard Park, NY, yesterday. Being back at home will help Luck who is 21-5 during his young career in games played at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts last Monday Night contest was a 40-24 bashing of the Jets in the Big Apple during Week 9 action last season. The spread has bounced around like a rubber ball but appears to have settled at 7.5 points with added juice on both sides. We are buying points and backing the Colts with a 300 unit wager on the -3.5 (-189) Alternate Spread price posted on the SportsInteraction betting board.
