Giants vs Cardinals: San Francisco Hosts Pivotal NLCS Game 3

SF Giants: Return home to pitcher friendly AT&T Park

After getting done in by three long balls at Busch Stadium in Game 2 of the NLCS the Giants are happy to be back at AT&T Park - a yard that gave up the the fourth fewest home runs during the regular season. Of the 107 big flies hit in San Francisco this year, the Giants crushed 53 of them while Jhonny Peralta was the only Cardinal hitter to bag a round tripper during the Cards three game visit back in July. RHP Tim Hudson heads to the hill for SF today. Hudson recovered from a rough September (0-4 ERA 8.72) as he allowed one run on seven hits with eight K's over 7.1 innings in the Giants 18 inning NLDS Game 3 win over Washington.

St Louis: Cardinals look to put ghosts of the 2012 NLCS behind them

A nightmare is the only way to describe the Cardinals last three playoff visits to the Bay Area. Back in 2012, St. Louis lost Game 2 at AT&T Park by a 7-1 count and then, heading back to Frisco with a 3-2 series led, they were crushed 6-1 and 9-0 in games 6 and 7 to lose the NLCS. The Red Birds took two of three contests played at AT&T Park this season. RHP John Lackey, who has tossed more playoff innings than any active MLB pitcher, gets the call for St. Louis. Lackey has given up just 36 earned runs over 111 innings pitched in the playoffs - including a one run over seven innings gem against the Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLDS.

MLB 2014 NLCS Game 3 Call: We have to admit that we've been tossing this game around like a hot potato. We like the Giants at home but we're not overly impressed with Hudson heading to the bump. The Cardinals send out a playoff savvy stud but have had their struggles in San Francisco and Lackey posted a 4.73 ERA on the road against a 2.94 ERA at home this season. Lackey also posted a 4.50 ERA in day games as opposed to a 3.61 ERA in night games. All things considered, San Francisco is the right side here and our call is a 500 unit wager on the Giants with the money line posted on the SportsInteraction betting board.
