New York Giants: Still atop NFC East after tough week
New York suffered a fourth quarter collapse, which put the shoe on the other foot for them, last week at home against the Steelers. The offense struggled immensely, leading to the end of the team’s four-game losing streak. The Giants are 6-3 overall and hold a 2.5 game lead in the East despite the loss. The offense struggled so much Sunday that it totaled just 182 yards in the game against Pittsburgh.
Cincinnati Bengals: Struggling at home with three losses
After grabbing their first home win of the season the Bengals have suffered three straight losses in front of their fans, which has not sat well with head coach Marvin Lewis. Cincinnati is 3-5 overall and if they fall to the Giants on Sunday their bid for a second consecutive wild card berth could suffer a major blow. The Bengals need to protect Andy Dalton (sacked five times last week) much better this week.
Both the Giants and the Bengals enter Sunday’s tilt with recent tough losses and are looking to rebound with wins. The Giants defense is third in the league with 25 sacks, which does not bode well for Dalton and his offensive line on Sunday. Sportsinteraction.com, one of the top sportsbooks online, has the Giants as -4.5 (-110) favorites, which is why we are taking the G-Men with the spread.
