Florida State Seminoles: Playing for Orange Bowl Bid
Florida State needs a rebound game following its 37-26 loss to instate rival Florida. The Seminoles are 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the ACC and are playing for their first title in the ACC since 2005. Defensive end Tank Carradine is going to miss the game after suffering a torn ACL. The team’s defensive coordinator, Mark Stoops, was hired as the new head coach at Kentucky, which could be a distraction on Saturday.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: Unlikely ACC title game opponent
Georgia Tech is playing in the ACC title game only because Miami self-imposed its own bowl ban for a second consecutive season as the NCAA continues an investigation of the program. The Yellow Jackets are 6-6 overall and 5-3 in the ACC but they won the Coastal Division because of the Miami bowl ban. Miami would have won the division with a tiebreaker over Georgia Tech without the bowl ban.
In what could be an exciting ACC title game, the Seminoles should be able to run away with the league title on Saturday. Georgia Tech was blown out by Georgia last week as Florida State hung with Florida all day before finally succumbing to the Gators. The online sportsbook of Sportsinteraction.com has the Seminoles as -14 (-115) favorites. We will bet our money on Florida St. and the spread.
