NHL Best Bets - March 30, 2017

Toronto @ Nashville NHL Preview

My Team's Next MatchToronto Maple Leafs

Toronto was able to avenge an embarrassing loss in Florida a few weeks back by beating the Panthers 3-2 last time out. The two points in the standings were drastically more important though as the race between them and a handful of others in the East is tight down the stretch.

Tonight they are hoping for a repeat performance from their first meeting with Nashville (6-2 win) but it won't be easy in hostile territory. The Nashville Predators are in a tight playoff race of their own in the West, but they should find themselves in the postseason soon.

It's all about seeding (and revenge) for Nashville now after getting a four-game winning streak snapped in their last outing, and with the Preds 4-0 SU in their last four at home they've got to like their chances tonight. Nashville is also 6-2 SU when playing their third game in four nights, 20-8 SU after scoring two goals or less, and 7-3 SU when coming off a loss of 3+ goals. With Toronto still a losing team on the road, you've got to side with the home squad tonight.

Best NHL Bets Tonight | March 30, 2017

Toronto is being hounded by Boston, Tampa Bay, NY Islanders and Carolina for their coveted playoff spot and all four of those teams are in action tonight as well.

Fans of Toronto will definitely have no problem scoreboard-watching, but that's an everyday occurrence for NHL bettors, so here are some other solid wagers to add to your card.

  • Carolina Hurricanes ML (+100) - Sharp bettors have already steamed this line down to +100 after opening in the +120 range, and with the home side winning the three previous matchups between the two this season, a desperate Hurricanes team gets the job done.
  • Dallas/Boston Over 6 (-105) - Boston is the closest of the four to Toronto in the standings and after beating Dallas 6-3 earlier this season, we should see plenty of goals tonight. Even a high total like '6' is too low for these two teams.
  • San Jose Sharks ML (+115) - The Oilers clinched a playoff spot for the first time in 10 years last time out and now they've got a tough game against a Sharks team they could meet in the first round. Typically fading teams after they've clinched a division crown at this time of year is a solid situation to look for, and while Edmonton didn't clinch the division, a playoff spot after such a long drought for this organization can apply to that theory as well.
