El Clasico: Christmas Comes Early in Barcelona

El Clasico: Christmas Comes Early in Barcelona

We take a look at all the latest odds and news for the biggest game in Spanish soccer – El Clasico: Barcelona vs Real Madrid. The game kicks off at 3pm ET, Wednesday December 18th.

There are only a handful of events that stop the world, and one of those is El Clasico. The biggest match in Spanish football is also one of the biggest and most watched around the world, and this edition between Barcelona and Real Madrid has added spice.

Unlike last season where Barcelona ran away with the league title, this match could well help decide the La Liga, as both teams come into the game with one hand on top spot. A loss could be fatal, even at this early stage.

As far as soccer betting goes, it doesn’t get much better than this. Check out the head to head odds on the big match.

Barcelona 1.70   Draw 4.00   Real Madrid 4.50

There’s always plenty of ways to bet on El Clasico, Prop bets are a great way to get the most out of soccer odds. You can place wagers on:

  • First Goal Scorer
  • Both Teams To Score
  • Over/Under
  • Correct Score

These are just a handful of the different markets available throughout the leading sportsbooks. Check out our partner sportsbook pages for more information.

El Clasico Prediction

Barcelona are often tough to beat on their home patch, and have an imperious record of 7 wins from 7 games so far in the 2019/20 season in La Liga.

The last time Real Madrid beat Barcelona at Camp Nou in the league was in April 2016, and this is one of just two wins by Madrid against their rivals in the last ten league matches. It’s fair to say Barca have the wood over their opponents.

Yet Real Madrid are in much better form at present, and have only lost once in fifteen league matches this season compared with Barcelona’s four defeats.

It will be an interesting clash – we’re tipping a high scoring draw, and the odds are available for this result as high as 4.00.

First Goal Scorer

Karim Benzema is in insane form, having scored 11 goals in 14 matches in La Liga this season. It’s an outsider pick, but if Real Madrid can score first, he is your man. Odds available at 8.00.

Alternatively, there’s a great chance that Antoine Griezmann (6.40) or Balon d’Or winner Lionel Messi (4.00) will strike first.

Both Teams To Score

Both sides have been impressive in front of goal this season, and it would be a shock to see a low-scoring match. Expect at least one goal from each side. Odds for ‘Yes’ in this market are around 1.50.

The line for most matches starts at 2.5 goals and this is no exception. The top sportsbooks agree that this one should be high-scoring – go for the over 2.5 goals at odds of 1.50 here.

Correct Score

It’s tough to predict the final score of any match, let alone El Clasico. However this is always a way to make a huge profit. We’re tipping a 2-2 draw, and odds are around 12.00 for this scoreline.
