Los Angeles Dodgers: Continue to fend off their NoCal neighbors

While they haven’t played their best baseball recently, Los Angeles continues to lead the National League West by one game over San Francisco. Just 6-8 during their last 14 contests, the Dodgers will aim for a third straight win for the first time in a month. Also, after 9-3 and 3-1 wins, Los Angeles is looking to push their winning streak versus the Diamondbacks to seven in a row. LHP Brett Anderson (2-4 ERA 3.29) heads to the hill for Los Angeles tonight.

Pitching is a problem for NL West cellar dwelling Diamondbacks

Riding a 6-9 recent run, Arizona is 27-31 overall and sit tied for last in the NL West with Colorado. Although they have scored the third most runs in the Majors (268) pitching continues to doom the Diamondbacks. Arizona is second last with a 4.37 team ERA and they have given up the fourth most runs (269) in the Majors. Enjoying a personal three game winning streak, allowing seven runs over 18.1 innings pitched, RHP Jeremy Hellickson (4-3 ERA 4.88) will deal for the Diamondbacks.

Dodgers vs Diamondbacks Decision: Los Angeles can sweep Arizona for a second time this season after they opened the month of May with three straight wins over the D-backs by a 15-4 margin. Anderson started the third game of that series and gave up zero runs on five hits over six innings as the Dodgers won 1-0 in a 13 inning marathon. Looking for some value here, we are going to back the OVER 6.5 runs with a 600 unit wager on the “Alternate Runline” posted at SportsInteraction.
