2019 NFL Wild Card Odds – Road Teams Ready To Rumble

2019 NFL Wild Card Odds – Road Teams Ready To Rumble
An incredible close to the regular season sets up four fantastic wild card games to kick off the 2019 NFL playoffs. Excepting the Chargers and Bears, who’ve played solid football all year, the rest of wild card entrants reserved playoff spots by finishing the season on fire. Division winners will be favored in most of these matchups, but anything can happen in a single game elimination.

2019 NFL Odds for the Wild Card Playoffs

NFL Quick Picks

  • Colts +2.5
  • Seahawks +2.5
  • Chargers +2.5
  • Bears -6.0

Indianapolis Colts (+120) vs Houston Texans (-140)

Spread – Texans -2.5 :: Over/Under – 47.5

Road teams look strong this year, with sports betting sites offering great NFL odds value during the wild card round. For this matchup, Houston and Indianapolis started the season with losing slumps. The Texans won nine in a row after losing three straight, while the Colts finished the regular season with a 9-1 run to sneak into the final wild card spot.

Both clubs enter the post season as outstanding dark horse candidates. The Texans roughneck defense allowed only 19.8 PPG, ranked fourth in the NFL, but the Colts resurgent attack lead by Andrew Luck ranks fifth best in the league. Houston’s horrendous offensive line will be the x-factor, allowing Indianapolis to sack a win out of Texas.

Pick – Colts +2.5

Seattle Seahawks (+120) vs Dallas Cowboys (-140)

Spread – Cowboys -2.5 :: Over/Under 43.0

Seattle’s been one of the best teams in the NFC in the second half of the season, defeating the Chiefs, Vikings, Panthers and Packers to surge into the post season. Russell Wilson’s enjoyed an outstanding campaign, guiding a surprisingly potent Seahawks club to the sixth best offense in the NFL.

Dallas relies on Zeke a bit too much to score and the Cowboys offensive line doesn’t give Dak a lot of time in a clean pocket. Coach Pete Carroll will likely figure out a way to stifle the Cowboys offense while Russ works his magic behind scrimmage. Nobody wants to play against the Seahawks, who enter the post season as an underrated threat.

Pick – Seahawks +2.5

Los Angeles Chargers (+120) vs Baltimore Ravens (-140)

Spread – Ravens -2.5 :: Over/Under 42.0

The Chargers reward for the second-best record in the NFL is a road trip to Baltimore on wild card weekend, while the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots enjoy a week off to recuperate. Life isn’t fair in the NFL, which will force the Chargers to play on the road throughout the post season. Baltimore stole the AFC North division from the Steelers over the last two weeks, entering the playoffs on a 6-1 tear.

The Ravens will deploy the second-best defense in the NFL to remove Philip Rivers from the equation after an impressive 22-10 victory over the Chargers in week 16. However, Los Angeles is one of the best clubs in the NFL, capable of adjusting to their previous loss. The Chargers depth and experience should allow them to overcome a challenging start to the playoffs.

Pick – Chargers +2.5

Philadelphia Eagles (+210) vs Chicago Bears (-260)

Spread – -6.0 :: Over/Under – 41.0

Nick Foles is the most decorated and admired backup pivot in the NFL, guiding the Eagles to the Super Bowl and defeating the Rams, Texans and Washington to drag Philadelphia back into the playoffs. Earning a wild card spot is a laudable achievement given the Eagles Super Bowl hangover, but this team is a shadow of their championship selves.

Chicago’s defense has mauled everyone all season long, even as NFL scores rise through the stratosphere. The Bears have allowed only 17.7 PPG, tops in the league, but their successful season includes a top-ten offense lead by a vastly improved Mitch Trubisky. Take the points on the Bears with confidence.

Pick – Bears -6.0
