    Victor Hedman (-125)

The Tampa Bay Lightning have a wealth of offensive players that have been key contributors to the team’s success. However, you could argue all-star defenceman Victor Hedman has been one of the Bolts’ most valuable players. Hedman is a -125 favourite to win the Norris Trophy as the league’s best blue-liner — and for good reason. Hedman has amassed 11 goals and 40 assists in 66 games this season. He also leads all NHL defencemen in plus/minus with a +26 rating with a few weeks remaining in the regular season. Hedman is a work horse as he’s logging 26 minutes of ice time on a nightly basis. Hedman is not on pace to break his 72-point season from a year ago, but what he’s done in the defensive zone has certainly made up for it.

    Drew Doughty (+200)

The Los Angeles Kings star defenceman knows a thing or two about winning the Norris Trophy. Drew Doughty collected his first Norris in 2016 and the star blue-liner is in great position to add another one to his trophy case. Much like Hedman, Doughty is an all-around defenceman that can score big goals at one end and shut down the league’s best players at the other. In 72 games played, Doughty has 9 goals and 42 assists in his ninth year in the league. Doughty will most definitely surpass his career-best 51 points, which won him the Norris in 2016-17. With a plus-16 rating, look for Doughty to be among the final candidates for the Norris once again.

    John Klingberg (+450)

Often going unnoticed in the lone star state is John Klingberg, who spent much of the 2017-18 season leading all blue-liners in scoring. Klingberg is improving in the defensive zone, but what makes him so valuable and in the Norris Trophy discussion are his offensive stats. Through 72 games player, Klingberg has recorded 7 goals and 51 assists for the Stars, who are making a push for the playoffs. Klingberg has picked up 20 assists on the power play, which is potent when the Swede is on the ice. Klingberg has tied his career best point total and will coast to a new high in 2018. The question is will it be enough to win the Norris? At +450, it’s worth the shot.

    P.K. Subban (+450)

The Nashville Predators have a few players that could be in Norris Trophy discussions. However, the one that really stands out is P.K. Subban, who won the award in 2013 while still with the Montreal Canadiens. Often criticized for his lack of defensive production, Subban has silenced those naysayers in2018 with a plus-16 rating. The offensive numbers haven’t tailored off either, as Subban has netted 16 goals and 36 assists through 71 games played with the Stanley Cup favourite Predators. The further the Predators go into the post-season, the greater the chances of Subban winning the Norris become. Just jump on the +450 line while you can.

Norris Trophy Prediction: P.K. Subban (+450)
