Tampa Bay vs St. Louis: Clunker Opens NFL Week 15 Betting
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Week 14 loss bursts Bucs playoff bubble
Although their playoff hopes seemed doomed by a 2-4 season start, Tampa Bay battled back as the Bucs went 4-2 over their next six games to get back in the postseason race. However, following a lackluster 24-17 home loss to the New Orleans Saints last weekend, the Bucs bubble has basically been popped. That said, while we can’t see Seattle losing to Cleveland and St. Louis over the next two weeks, Minnesota has matches against the Bears, Giants and Packers left on their schedule. If the Vikings lose all three – three wins would propel Tampa Bay into the playoffs. After inexplicitly getting just eleven carries last week, expect RB Doug Martin to carry a full load in this contest.
St. Louis Rams: Closing out a season that’s been a muddy mess in the Show Me State
We highly doubt that the St. Louis players believe they still have a playoff shot because, while they mathematically do, they don’t. Even if St. Louis wins tonight and the Vikings and/or Seahawks lose on Sunday, a Week 16 match in Seattle is next up for the Rams – put a fork in ‘em. Beyond all that, the truth remains – St. Louis has issues across the board. While injuries to key players have hurt their cause, the numbers speak for themselves as the Rams have one of the worst offensive attacks in the NFL. In fact, if you take away the 1125 total yards and ten touchdowns posted by stud rookie Todd Gurley – that leaves the rest of the team contributing 2748 yards and ten touchdowns.
Buccaneers vs Rams NFL Week 15 Prediction: While they are middle of the pack in the NFL – defense is a strength for both teams here. Tampa Bay ranks eighth in run defense, allowing 94.1 yards per game, so that presents a challenge for Gurley. St. Louis has the 13th ranked pass defense and, after they held Lions stud WR Calvin Johnson to just one catch last week, Bucs WR Mike Evans is in tough tonight. Case Keenum, who looked brutally concussed in Baltimore back in Week 11, starts for the Rams who have scored just two passing touchdowns during their last seven games. We are buying a point, to get a field goal plus a hook here, and backing the Bucs with 500 unit wager on the +3.5 alternate point spread price posted at the SportsInteraction sportsbook.
