Redskins vs Giants NFL Week 7 Sunday Handicapping Tips
New York Giants: In need of an NFC East win
New York has yet to win a game within the NFC East this year but Sunday could be different from the defending Super Bowl champions as the Redskins come to town. New York is 4-2 and atop the division with a one-game lead over the Redskins and the Eagles. New York made it known last week that they are for real with a dominating win on the road over the San Francisco 49ers. Defense will be key on Sunday against a talented Redskins offense so expect the Giants to employ a rush much like last week.
Washington Redskins: A win ties team for first in division
Robert Griffin III has shown that not only can he run, and run fast, but can also be very dangerous with his arm. RG3 will be tested by the formidable front of the Giants, who will look to contain him and force him into mistakes each play of the game. Running back Albert Morris, the fifth-leading rusher in the league, is making a name for himself in his rookie season as well. The Washington defense intercepted Eli Manning four times in the team’s two wins over New York last year.
We absolutely love divisional games but they can be difficult to bet on because so many of them are evenly matched. Even though New York lost two games to Washington in 2011, the Giants are still the Super Bowl champions. Eli Manning has something to prove against the Redskins after four picks last year so we are going to take the Giants at home with the -6.0 (-110) spread to grab their first win within the division while pushing the Redskins further down in the NFC East standings.
