NFL 2015 Week Five: Monster Game Lines Steer us Off the Beaten Path

NFL 2015 Week Five: Monster Game Lines Steer us Off the Beaten Path
Normally not fond of wagering on contests that involve losing teams, the glut of monster spreads on the Week 5 National Football League betting board at SportsInteraction has pushed us off the beaten path. A couple of games that feature teams with a combined 4-12 record have caught our attention as the Jacksonville vs Tampa Bay and Baltimore vs Cleveland contests have prices and components that we feel can be exploited. The Jaguars visit the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium while the Ravens welcome the Browns to M&T Bank Stadium. Both battles are slated for 1:00 PM ET on October 12, 2015.

Jaguars vs Buccaneers: Fledgling Florida squads square off

Facts are facts and neither of these teams will be playing in the Super Bowl anytime soon. Tampa Bay is off to a 1-3 start (0-2 at home) and they have been outscored by a 117-72 combined count. Jacksonville is 1-3 as well (0-2 on the road) and they have been pummeled by a 107-62 margin in their first four games. The Bucs lone victory was a 26-19 decision over the Saints in New Orleans while the Jags jolted Miami 23-20 at home as both teams won during NFL Week 2 action.

Browns vs Ravens: Current AFC North cellar dwellers battle to escape the basement

Always rebuilding, the Browns haven’t appeared in the NFL playoffs since 2002, Cleveland is 1-3 and they’ve been outscored by a 102-82 margin. Baltimore won their first game of the year last week but they’ve been outscored 104-93 while posting a 1-3 record. The Browns lone win was a 28-14 effort at home in Week 2 against Tennessee while the Steelers handed the Ravens a 23-20 overtime gift victory in Pittsburgh during the NFL Week 4 Thursday night prime time contest.

Buccaneers and Browns NFL Week 5 Parlay Selection: Tampa Bay losing eleven straight home games is abysmal but Jacksonville has been equally inept as they’ve lost eleven straight contests on the road. Making matters worse, and although it was a short trip, this is the Jaguars third straight road game – that seems unfair. Although a mediocre season was expected in Cleveland, some pundits are surprised by the rough season start in Baltimore. We actually feel the Browns have more upside than the Ravens do at this point. Nine of the past ten meetings between these AFC North rivals have been decided by ten points or less – including the last six matches in Maryland. Gives us the Bucs +2.5 (-238) plus the Browns +11 (-222) with a 300 unit wager on the Alternate Spread prices posted on the NFL betting board at SportsInteraction.
