Mets vs Dodgers: MLB National League Betting Lines and Prediction
Zack Greinke looks to get back to his winning form
Riding a personal two game August losing streak (one no-decision) RHP Zack Grienke (12-8 ERA 2.75) looks to get back on track against the Mets tonight. After giving up nine runs (seven earned) in losses to the Angels (5-0) and Milwaukee (4-1) Greinke was solid over five innings as he held the Brewers scoreless and allowed two hits in an eventual 6-3 Dodgers loss. Greinke is dealing with a minor elbow issue, he had to skip his last start, but is good to go here. LA pounded the Mets 6-2 to take the opener of this three game series last night.
Mets stud Jacob deGrom is a rare shining star in the Big Apple
Facing yet another losing season, not much has gone right for the Mets this year. A rare exceptions is RHP Jacob deGrom (6-5 ERA 2.87) who is 5-0 over his last six starts. The numbers are sparkling as deGrom has allowed just seven earned runs over his last 40.2 innings pitched. The Mets rookie sensation, who missed his last start while dealing with a minor shoulder injury, last pitched six innings on August 6th and gave up three runs in a Mets 5-3 loss in 13 innings to the red hot Washington Nationals. New York is riding a 3-8 skid.
MLB Prediction: The Dodgers are playing for something and, with the Giants just 3.5 games behind them and charging, they need to get on a roll to lock down the NL West. While we’ll only make this wager if Greinke starts – we like Los Angeles with a 500 unit wager on the money line posted at SportsInteraction.
