The young Cubbies are 9-1 against the Brewers and they have won four straight matches at Miller Park – albeit two months ago. The lone loss was a 4-1 decision at Wrigley Field on September 23. Prior to that, the Cub had crushed the Brew Crew by a 48-29 combine final score during their nine-game winning streak. The Windy City Crew are enjoying a 12-4 recent run while the Brewers are 6-10 during the same period. 

Cubs vs Brewers MLB Prediction: Prior to taking the mound in the NL Wild Card game, Cubs ace RHP Jake Arrieta (21-6 ERA 1.82) will face Brewers rookie RHP Ariel Pena (2-0 ERA 3.91) in the rumble on the rubber tonight. Arrieta is looking to be just the second 22 game winner over the past seven years – Justin Verlander won 24 games for Detroit in 2011. Arrieta is a sparkling 12-1 with a 1.68 ERA away from Wrigley Field as he’s allowed just 22 earned runs over 118 innings pitched on the road. A September call up from Triple-A Colorado Springs, Pena has enjoyed a decent start to his MLB career as he’s allowed just ten runs over 23 innings pitched during five starts.
